Volcanoes Through a Burned Forest

As we traveled, we entered the region burned out by the B&B Fire of 2003, which burned 90,000 acres. It was sad to see such tall, straight trees that were dead and not even being used. I wonder why the timber couldn't be used for building. The branches are practically stripped, and the trunk doesn't even look scorched. Hmmmmm. In the middle of this shot is one of the three Sisters: North Sister. Middle Sister and South Sister are not visible. These volcanoes have had some activity recently, but it is not known if that will lead to an eruption. The tall pointy peak to the right is Mt. Washington. Today we also saw Black Butte, Broken Top, and Three Fingered Jack. So today's volcano count is 8! Counting the three I saw on Friday, I have seen 11 in this visit. Actually, this count isn't really accurate anyway. There are volcanoes I have seen this trip that don't have names. It doesn't matter, though. The point is, I've see LOTS of volcanoes!
