Dr. Allan Treiman

Dr. Treiman is one of our teachers on this trip. He taught us that there are really more than three kinds of volcanoes (which is what we are taught because three is such a nice number). He taught us about the different factors that give a volcano its shape, and he was our main guide in today's field trips. In this picture, he is showing a demonstration of pyroclastic flow using mashed potato flakes. Our other teachers are Dr. Stephanie Shipp, Dr, Justin Filiberto, and Dr. Juliane Gross.
