07-10-09 The Gorge White House
The Gorge White House was our main stop in what is known as the "Fruit Loop". The Fruit Loop is a long loop of highway through fertile land in the foothills of Mt. Hood. It is known for its flowers, pears, cherries and wine grapes. This old home allows you to pick your own flowers, berries, pears, etc. It also sells several local products and has a tasting room for all of the Oregon wines from the area. To the north of the property, is snow-capped Mt. Adams in Washington state. To the south, stands Mt. Hood. I bet the people who live in this area and see such beauty every day, really don't get how special it is.
