Pika-boo!

A Pika (PIE-kah) is an animal indigenous to this area that is in the same Order as rabbits, and is similar to a hamster. The burrow in the rocky ground and are quite chatty. You can hear them talking to each other all along the trail to the top of the Multonomah Falls. They sound like someone stepped on a dog's squeak toy. It is also similar to the sound made by Monty Python's Knights of Nee! They can be hard to spot, so I was glad to be able to get this little guy on camera. I was sad, though that he didn't vocalize.
